How We Review

The checks behind every page on this site, the sources we use and how we keep the information up to date.

Updated

Our principles

We only publish what we can check against a primary source, we show the downsides as clearly as the upsides, and we never let commercial relationships decide what we write.

What we check

AreaWhat we look at
Licence and operatorWho runs the casino, the licence number, its status on the regulator's public register and any enforcement history
Access from New ZealandWhether the site accepts local players, offers NZD and shows NZ-specific offers and games
BonusesThe full terms of every offer: minimum deposit, wagering, maximum bet, expiry, maximum win and excluded games
PaymentsDeposit and withdrawal limits in NZD, processing times, fees and the rules on payment method ownership
VerificationWhich documents are needed, when checks happen and how long they take
Account rulesThe one-account rule, VPN restrictions, inactivity fees and anything else that can affect your balance
GamesThe size of the lobby, the studios, live casino and which games count towards bonus wagering
Support and complaintsSupport channels and response times, and the route to independent dispute resolution
Safer gamblingThe limits, reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion tools available in the account

Our sources

  • Boo Casino's general terms and conditions and promotion terms
  • The casino's help centre
  • The New Zealand version of the casino site, viewed from a local connection
  • The Malta Gaming Authority's public register and announcements
  • New Zealand's Department of Internal Affairs and Gambling Helpline Aotearoa

When sources disagree, for example when the general terms and the help centre quote different minimum deposits, we say so and use the more specific figure.

Currency and numbers

We quote amounts in NZD wherever the casino does. Where it quotes euros, we convert at the European Central Bank reference rate on the date stated on the page, round the result and add "about". The casino applies its own NZD equivalents, so small differences are possible.

When we show wagering examples, we calculate them exactly as the terms describe, for example 40 times bonus plus deposit, so you can see the real amount you would need to bet.

Keeping pages up to date

Every page shows when it was last updated. Time-limited offers, such as the Game of the Week or seasonal promotions, are re-checked when they change. If we find something out of date, we correct it and update the date.

If you spot an error, please let us know through our contact page.

Independence

We may earn a commission when readers sign up through our links. That relationship has no effect on the facts we publish or the drawbacks we point out. Read more on our about page.
